Artificial Intelligence

About this course

About this course

The massive open online course "Artificial Intelligence" is designed for anyone who wants to learn more about this branch of science so that you can make informed decisions when faced with the use of artificial intelligence in your work or life. The subject is not only relevant to mathematicians or computer scientists, so the course is open to all majors. It is important to note that the explanation of all algorithms is based more on mathematical calculations, identification of the essential steps of the algorithms, applications and benefits. The nuances of software implementation and programming of IoT systems are not covered in detail in this course, in order to involve a broader range of disciplines. We, therefore, invite you to join us from economics, chemistry, social sciences and other fields to deepen your knowledge on the most relevant and evolving topic of our time: artificial intelligence.

You will learn:

Identify artificial intelligence methods and algorithms, explain their principles and demonstrate applications.

ŠUTIENĖ Kristina

Kristina Šutienė - Associate Professor, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Kaunas University of Technology, member of the research group "Mathematical Modelling of Stochastic, Economic and Medical Systems". Her research is related to financial risk assessment and modelling and decision-making using financial mathematics, artificial intelligence and data science methods. She also has a special interest in statistical modelling for medical problems. She teaches modules in applied mathematics, big business data analytics, medical physics and artificial intelligence. Together with her team, she has developed a massive open online course on artificial intelligence in a virtual learning environment. She is a member of the Lithuanian Mathematical Society and the international association "Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence".

DUBAUSKIENĖ Neringa

Neringa Dubauskienė is interested in intelligence - both natural and artificial, loves science fiction and tries to make her favourite music playlist as diverse as possible. She also enjoys variety when lecturing to students, encouraging them to look at problems from all angles, to consider as many circumstances as possible, and to be unafraid of being wrong. This is supported by problem-based learning, which Neringa teaches at the EDU_Lab. She also teaches creativity, STEM applications and didactics. Neringa has been working with students in the classroom for 7 years and has been a member of the Edu_Lab expert team for 5 years.

PAULAUSKAITĖ-TARASEVIČIENĖ Agnė

Agnė Paulauskaitė-Tarasevičienė - Head of the KTU Artificial Intelligence Centre and Professor at the Faculty of Informatics. She is currently actively involved in highlighting the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in business, training programs, public education programs and social media. Together with her team, she have developed a mass open online course on AI in a virtual learning environment. She also led the development of the first IoT study program in Lithuania "Artificial Intelligence". Agnė is one of the four Lithuanian researchers involved in the UNESCO Artificial Intelligence Ethics and Recommendations process. She has been a research & study mentor, co-author &reviewer of scientific publications from international publishers. She has been involved in research projects on AI as a researcher & supervisor. Her research interests include: machine learning algorithms, image processing technologies, IoT ethics, smart control systems & the Internet of Things.
