About this course

This course is designed for those who want to learn the basics of business intelligence: - Company managers. - Business and financial analysts. - Managers, heads of departments and specialists of all types and ranks responsible for a specific subject area. - IT professionals: IS administrators and programmers. - Anyone interested in Business Intelligence and its application. In the course, you will learn how to work with Power Pivot and Power View, Excel plug-ins for business intelligence, as well as the DAX programming language for data analysis expressions. The course material is divided into 3 parts. The first part contains 9 assignments on data importing and creating data models, while the second part contains 13 assignments on the DAX expression programming language. The third part is dedicated to the Power View plug-in.

 

You will learn:

The basic concepts of a data model, as well as the data model schemes used in Excel, Power Pivot and Power BI, and how to create these data models. You will learn how to create indexes and calculated columns using the expression programming language DAX. Using the Power View plug-in, you will create interactive reports (dashboards) from a Power Pivot data model. All these tools are used for business intelligence in companies and organisations based on available large volume digital information with complex structures. The main expected outcomes of this training are to acquire the following professional competencies: - Know how to import/upload output data to the Power Pivot data model. - Know how to create indexes and calculated columns using the expression programming language DAX. - Create complex reports from the data of a data model using Power Pivot and Power View plug-ins.
