This programme is intended for individuals seeking to deepen their knowledge in survey research planning, implementation, and quality assurance. Participants will explore the Total Survey Error concept, sample design principles, population selection strategies, and time planning. The training covers survey modes, respondent motivation techniques, non-response reduction strategies, and fieldwork implementation. Emphasis is placed on international survey practices such as the European Social Survey (ESS), including questionnaire translation (TRAPD method) and quality control procedures. Dr. Vaidas Morkevičius is an associate researcher at the Centre for Data Analysis and Archiving, Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts, KTU, and a professor in the research group "Civil Society and Sustainability", Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts, KTU. His research interests include: political communication, attitudes and behaviour of citizens and elites, social structure and inequality, social research methods. With Zenonas Norkus, he published the textbook "Qualitative Comparative Analysis" in 2011. Since 2002 he has taught various research methods courses at KTU, VMU and ISM. From 2008-2018 he was the National Coordinator of the European Social Survey in Lithuania. As a co-author, he has contributed to the development of statistical analysis of quantitative data and computer-assisted qualitative data analysis training materials. He has more than 15 years of experience in training and consulting on quantitative data analysis software.
Dr. Aistė Balžekienė is a professor of sociology and the principal investigator of the “Civil Society and Sustainability” Research Group at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, KTU. Her research interests include risk and environmental sociology, social perception of climate change, and the methodology of social sciences. She is the president of the Thematic group TG04 Sociology of Risk and Uncertainty of International Sociological Association (ISA), a board member of the research network Sociology of Risk and Uncertainty of the European Sociological Association (ESA) and Society for Risk Analysis Nordic Chapter. She teaches quantitative and qualitative research methods and has published on methodological issues in international survey research on risk perception. She has participated in the implementation of international comparative research in Lithuania: the European Social Survey (ESS) and the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP).
Dr. Rimantas Rauleckas is Associate Professor at the Centre for Data Analysis and Archiving, Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts, KTU. His research area is Public Governance, and his main taught module is Social Research Methods. His research applies statistical analysis methods to survey data. As a co-author, he has contributed to the development of training material on statistical analysis of quantitative data.
