This programme is designed for anyone interested in applying descriptive statistical methods and analysing quantitative data using SPSS software. Participants will become familiar with the basics of statistical analysis, learn to prepare databases, select appropriate descriptive methods, interpret results and formulate data-driven conclusions. The focus is on practical application of frequency analysis, measures of central tendency and dispersion, distribution shape and data normality, as well as effective result visualisation and justification. The training is particularly useful for those conducting surveys, evaluations or data-driven decision-making in various fields.

Dr. Aistė Balžekienė is a professor of sociology and principal investigator at the research group "Civil Society and Sustainability" at the KTU Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities. Research interests: sociology of risk and environment, social impact of technology, social perception of climate change, and methodology of social sciences. She is a resident of the International Sociological Association (ISA) Thematic Group TG04 "Sociology of Risk and Uncertainty", member of the Boards of the Society for Risk Analysis Nordic Chapter, and of the European Sociological association (ESA) Research Group RN22 "Sociology of Risk and Uncertainty". She teaches quantitative and qualitative research methods and has published on methodological issues in international survey research on risk perception. She has participated in the implementation of international comparative research in Lithuania: the European Social Survey (ESS) and the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP).
