The workshops is for researchers who want to practice empirical research design. The workshop analyses scientific problems, issues and situations submitted by researchers. Various alternative empirical research design solutions are discussed and modelled for one situation. For example: Would a survey, interview, or document analysis be more appropriate to achieve the research objectives? Which sampling methods to choose and combine? Which analysis methods are most appropriate? Etc.
Learning outcomes include the practical development of researcher skills in empirical research design. In the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to work on their own scientific problems, questions and situations. They will analyse and model alternative empirical research design solutions for specific situations. For example, they will discuss whether a survey, interview or document analysis is the most appropriate to achieve the research objectives, how to combine and select sampling methods, and what analysis methodologies are most appropriate.
