The development of information technologies is changing the possibilities of not only quantitative but also qualitative social research methods. Modern software helps qualitative researchers to collect information and data, transcribe video and audio recordings, organise and analyse the various types of material (textual, visual and audio) collected. One of the main such software packages is MAXQDA (for more information see www.maxqda.com), which offers the possibility to integrate quantitative and qualitative methods of data analysis and to present the results of the analysis in different ways. The training is aimed at researchers who want to get started with MAXQDA. The training is interactive and builds practical skills. After the training you can start working independently with MAXQDA.
The basics of coding and categorising data, including creating codes and categories, applying codes to data and managing codes and categories. Importing and managing data from different sources. Prepare reports and export data, create tables, graphs and presentations. Apply data analysis techniques: content and thematic analyses, etc. Use MAXQDA visual tools to display and analyse data, such as word clouds, charts and tables.
