This programme is intended for individuals responsible for radiation safety in institutions working with medical and non-medical radioactive sources and ionising radiation generators exceeding 1 MeV. Participants will study the fundamentals of nuclear physics, types of radiation and their interactions, measurement methods, biological impact on the human body, legal framework and issues of occupational, medical, and emergency exposure. The course also addresses risk assessment, safety measures, control procedures, and licensing. Practical exercises support the application of knowledge in real scenarios. Upon completion, participants will have comprehensive knowledge and skills to manage radiation safety issues within institutions using or generating ionising radiation.
