At the A1 level of proficiency in Swedish, learners are able to understand and use phrases related to everyday activities and simple phrases to meet basic needs; to introduce themselves and others, to ask and answer questions related to personal information (where they live, what they like, what they have); to take part in simple discussions where the other speaker or speakers speak slowly and clearly and to help them to express their thoughts. The course duration is 152 academic hours, of which 76 hours are dedicated to learning with the lecturer. A certificate of completion of the non-formal education programme is awarded upon positive assessment of the competences acquired and the credits are recognised by the higher education institution.
