The course aims to train health and safety coordinators in building design and assess their preparation to perform their duties. Teaching/learning methods: lectures, discussions, individual independent work. The course is provided twice a year in spring/autumn as distance learning. A certificate for construction safety and health coordinators is issued to the persons who have completed the training programme for health and safety coordinators in building design and whose knowledge in occupational safety and health is verified (certified) by an attestation commission set up by order of the head of the educational institution. The certificate is valid for 5 years.
You will gain knowledge about: - the requirements of occupational health and safety legislation, including the requirements for the protection of workers from exposure to risk factors; - the requirements for organising and carrying out construction work on a construction site, ensuring the safety and health of workers; - the causes of occupational accidents and occupational diseases in construction work; - the principles for the organisation of occupational risk assessment on construction sites and the development, organisation and control of measures for the elimination and/or reduction of identified risks; - the principles of communication and cooperation between social partners. You will acquire the skills to: - prepare a set of documents according to the construction project which contain the requirements of the legislation, and must be followed when carrying out work on a construction site; - prepare an occupational safety and health plan for a construction site.
